![]() They are shown only on the Movie and Mysteries Channel. We have also enjoyed the series Signed, Sealed, Delivered which is about a team of post office employees who deliver letters that never made it to their recipients. One that I enjoy is When Calls the Heart. It is about a woman who moves to a small mining town to be a school teacher. Hallmark will occasionally have a series of prime time shows. I don't toy with the subject of witchcraft. It toys with the idea of the star being a witch. I am also not a fan of their series The Good Witch. If you have been in a fog about being entertained with murder before, these titles should jar you enough to reconsider that choice. The titles sound as though Strawberry Shortcake and friends have gone on a killing spree. They have a movie called Murder She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery and one called Murder She Baked: A Peach Cobbler Mystery. I am pro-life and do not consider murder to be entertainment. I do not include the murder mystery movies from the "Hallmark: Movies and Mysteries Channel" because I do not watch them. Only Christmas movies are shown November and December and are shown all day every day, with a new premiere each Saturday and Sunday night. ![]() Hallmark also has some movies available on their website. These movies are shown January through October on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. That way I always have a movie to watch when I get some relax time (which guards me from the temptation of watching something less reliable) and then I check it off my list. I look up the schedule at and and set my DVR to record the ones I haven't seen. I thought it might come in handy for those like me who wanted to keep track of the movies they have seen. When choosing a Hallmark movie, I have found myself wondering, "Have I seen this one?" and get half way through it before I realize that I HAVE seen it, so I compiled this list of movies shown on a recurring basis over the last several years. The worst ones for language are usually the non-Hallmark movies they show, but those are rare. Surely they know that a large part of their audience does not appreciate that. ![]() From a marketing perspective, that is puzzling to me. God gives us direction through the desires of our hearts, but let's be sure that we are following God-honoring desires and not the desires of our natural man.Įvery once in a while, I come across a Hallmark movie with a swear word in it. Your heart is deceitful and so is mine (Jeremiah 17:9). Hallmark has movies that promote mostly good ideals, although I've noticed a recurring theme of "follow your heart" which is prevalent today. Philosophies can slip in without detection if we are not careful. I rate this movie slightly on the high side of my average for this genre because of the unexpected plot lines and because of Hunter King as the appealing Maggie. We should always be on guard as to what we allow ourselves to hear and see. This movie lacked an opportunity for Hallmark's signature scenery. The dialogue is decent but not sparkling. Other players did their part but I can't decide whether Lillian Doucet-Roche succeeded as Chloe deliberately or just fell into the portrayal of this sadly confused woman. Hunter King and Chandler Massey have chemistry. Another minor twist is the source of the inspiration for the resolution of the Conflict which results inevitably for obvious reasons. Her thread is just a mess with some unlikely details also. More like his campaign doners' interests will be contrary to the majority of the public. We're told the mayor can't be confronted by Henry because the electorate will be evenly divided no matter what stance he takes on the park. Some of the elements used for mild tension in the heart of the movie are a little weak. Henry and Maggie/Maise met and engaged nicely with one another. Another thing I found refreshing was skipping the usual initial antagonism between the leads. Henry was only mildly annoying in his reporter persona which allowed him to be likeable on the whole. This premise usually leads inevitably to a certain conflict near the end, but not here which I found refreshing. The other part of the premise is an investigative reporter sent to cover the wedding. ![]() It includes the requirement that she keep the big Secret of her identity. The overall flow of the movie follows this plot thread. The professional bridesmaid angle is close but slightly different from the wedding planner premise.
